Couldn’t I just sell my car myself?+
Yes,of course you can! But having us sell your car massively increases your chances of selling, not only because it will be a premium advert attracting a heap of traffic, but because we are able to accept trade ins, arrange finance, extended warranty etc. This opens you up to a whole heap more buyers than if you were selling the car yourself. On average 70% of our sales include a trade in, and those deals wouldn't be possible for a private seller selling independently.
What happens if I decide to take my car off the market during the sales campaign, or I sell it myself?+
If it is inside our 90 day sales campaign window, 50% of our fee is payable (the initial deposit is included in the 50%)
Can I advertise the car myself whilst ATA is handling the sales campaign?+
No you can't, this will only confuse potential buyers if there are multiple adverts of the same car by different sellers.
Are there any extra fees not listed on the website?+
No, all fees on our website are the only fees included in our service.
If my car doesn’t sell quickly, when will you stop advertising it?+
If your car isn’t sold in 90 days, we will re-assess the advertisement and discuss our options. At no point will we cancel the advertising unless instructed to do so by our customer.
Do the cars you sell have any warranty?+
No, Auto Trade Agents do not supply warranty for cars sold by us, as we are not a car dealership. However, if you wish to purchase additional extended warranty, this can certainly be arranged.
Will my car be insured while it’s in your possession?+
While Auto Trade Agents will take the utmost care of your car, we recommended that sellers have comprehensive car insurance in place to cover ATA driving your car. If you do not wish for prospective buyers to test drive your car, we will ensure that this is upheld and all test drives will be conducted by us.
Do you keep the car while it’s for sale?+
No, the car will stay with you to use until it is sold. This arrangement allows us to keep our costs down, in turn passing the saving onto you through our competitive rates.
How long will it take for you to sell my car?+
At Auto Trade Agents we aim to market your car in an attractive manner, which involves a competitive price compared to similarly listed cars. On average, we expect to have your car sold in 30-45 days.
Are you able to help obtain vehicle finance for my new purchase?+
Yes, we can have finance arranged through one of our asset finance partners.
What areas do you service?+
We offer our service in the metropolitan suburbs of Melbourne, generally within 15km of the CBD. We can provide our service to areas further than 15km, but additional charges will be added.
Where will you advertise my car?+
We advertise our cars on various platforms. The type of car and price point will determine where it is advertised.
If I don't want to sell through the agency, and I just want my car sold, can you assist?+
Yes, we sure can. We don't recommend this option as an agency sale will give you a lot more money in your pocket, however we do understand that some people just want the car sold ASAP for various reasons. If this is the case, just send through your car information and specify you are after an instant offer, as opposed to the agency service.
What is required for my vehicle to be eligible for your service?+
- The vehicle needs to be in good overall condition (no major panel or mechanical repairs required) in order for us to be able to properly market the vehicle.
- It needs a clear history (not recorded as previously written off or stolen)
- Must be in roadworthy condition, or you must be prepared to bring the vehicle to a roadworthy condition when a sale is made
- It must be registered and have full comprehensive insurance cover
Are the advertised listing prices 'drive away'?+
No, all advertised prices are excluding government charges which must be paid by the buyer post sale.
